About Our FamilyOur testimonies, Our calling, Our Plan
Kevin and Stacy met in Bible college in 1995. Shortly after, in 1996 they were married and were expecting their first child. Throughout the years they have been faithful to serve the Lord in whatever capacity was needed. God took them to Germany in 2000 when Kevin was active duty in the United States Air Force. It was during that enlistment time that God spoke to Kevin’s heart about military missions. They joined Baptist International Missions, Inc. in 2005 when their enlistment was finished and started deputation in the United States. In 2009, God allowed them to finish their deputation and go back to the field of Germany, this time as Missionaries. They were faithful to the work of the Lord until God brought them off the field in 2016 to start a new church plant in the Northwest.
The Byers Family will be planting an Independant, Fundamental, King James Bible believing church in the town of Astoria, Oregon. The population is over 9,000 with 37,000 living in Clatsop County. A 2015 poll revealed that less than 16% of those people claim to be very religious. This is a very needy area! The Byers hope to have enough support by the end of 2018 to plant the new Church. If you would like to be a part of that, go to their Support Us page above. If you would like to contact them for a meeting, click on the contact form below.
Pastor, Missionary, Husband, Father, Veteran
When I was seventeen years old and surrendered my life to preach the gospel, it was in my heart to plant a church in the Northwest just like my pastor did. Pastor Adams came to Portland Oregon 35 years ago, to a place described to him as “the fundamentalist graveyard.” Greater Portland Baptist Church was born, is thriving, and would now like to reproduce itself just 2 hours away in the town of Astoria. By God’s grace, our family will be leading that endeavor!
Wife, Mother, supporter of her husband
When I was 14 years old, my Mom met an Old fashioned, Independant, Fundamental Baptist Pastor. Most of my family is Catholic, but my Mom brought her family to church that night in March of 1993 to hear the Gospel. That night, I got saved. This dear Pastor and his wife took me under their wing and helped me to grow in the Lord. I knew God had a calling on my life and I left for Bible college at 17, where I met and married my husband a year later.
Explorers, Missionary kids, blessings
The Lord has blessed our family with 7 children. 6 of them still live at home and actively serve along side their parents in ministry. Gabriel is an usher and serves wherever he is needed. Bella Grace is our piano player. Caleb, Noah, Elijah and Micaiah invite any neighborhood child they meet to church and are often their Dad’s visitation partners. They are also instrumental in preparing our church meeting place each week. All of them have been blessed to live overseas, and to experience several different countries and cultures! Lamentations 3:51 says “mine eye affecteth my heart…” Maybe the Lord will one day call them to the Mission field!
