We visited Red Lodge Montana, Helena Montana, Billings Montana, Challis Idaho, Columbia Falls Montana, Stevensville Montana, Kalispell, Montana, and Prineville Oregon. We’ve been everywhere, breathed the mountain air, of travel we’ve had our share! It’s great to be home in Astoria for a few days before we begin our busy September schedule. Thank you for praying for traveling mercies. Although the mountains burned around us, we had no breakdowns, accidents, or tickets during the entire span of our trip and we are very grateful for that!
The Lord gave us an extremely full calendar in the month of August and, as my preacher constantly reminds his congregation; “A wise son gathereth in the summer.” We are trusting that most of the churches we visited will increase in faith and commit to helping us to preach the gospel in the regions beyond their local churches to a place as far west as one can go in the united States. We were encouraged to visit churches that remain fixed on the old King James Bible, resolute in worshiping God with holy music, and determined to hold fast sound doctrine. In places all across the country there are a remnant of God’s people who will not bow the knee to the god of this world or the “American idols” he produces. It has been a joy to make new friends in the ministry and to be made aware of the work that God is doing.
While I traveled with our eight year old son, Elijah; Stacy kept things moving ahead on the home front. Our kids have been catching up on school and growing like weeds! Anchor Bible Club continued and more visitors came. Our kids made a big push for visitors on the last day before school starts. On the last day of Bible club there were 8 kids from the neighborhood in attendance. Our Thursday evening Bible Study was postponed until September because of my traveling but we will resume those meetings starting tonight. The ministry is already a joy and we have so much to look forward to.
The last Sunday in April is our target date to begin Sunday services. Please consider marking some time on your calendar to visit Astoria with your church in February, March, and April of 2019 to help us with tract distribution. We plan to have maps available and coordinate a concerted effort to give an invitation to each of the 15 thousand households in Clatsop county before we begin our first Sunday meeting.
Please continue to pray for 3 families to join us before we start, 3 baptisms on our first Sunday, and one couple to come with their pastor’s recommendation to help us in the first year. Of course we need to raise our full monthly support by January in order to be most effective in the work so keep this on the prayer list as well. God bless you for your attention to these letters!
