About

Many may ask…”what are you doing in Germany anyway?” Well, after we left the Air Force in 2005 we decided to follow the Lord’s leading into Military Ministry. We started deputation where we traveled full-time for the next 4 years. That was a very challenging time for our family, but we did see many blessings from the Lord during that time! 3 of those blessings were new additions to our family. Caleb, Noah, and Elijah were all deputation babies! Add some pregnancies into your full-time traveling schedule and you really have some excitement on your hands!

We traveled from one side of America to the other. East coast to West coast, North to South, and all states in between. Finally in May of 2009 we had enough support raised from Baptist churches to pack up and leave for Germany. We came here to work with another church, but the Lord showed us a need for a new ministry to a base here. So we started God’s Word Baptist Church where our purpose is to reach out to the Illesheim and neighboring communities. We don’t only extend our services  to the Military personnel, but to all in the Community that would like to attend. We have also invited many English speaking Germans to our services. We only mention English speaking so far because our German needs A LOT of work! We are hoping to be fluent in the language soon so we can also teach our German friends and neighbors about the love of God. After all, salvation is given freely to ALL people!

We enjoy our village of Lehrberg and we have some of the friendliest neighbors ever. We have heard stories of how “cold and callous” German nationals can be, but we have not seen that to be true here. Most of these are farmers who’s families have been in these communities for generations. They are willing to give you anything you need if it is in their power to do it. We hope that we have a firm knowledge of the German language very soon so we can adequately witness to our new German friends here!
