February 2018 Prayer Letter (Downloadable)

Dear Supporting Churches,

We have wonderful news this month and more to report than space on the page. Thank you for taking time to share this letter with the church family and pray for us.

We found a house, had it inspected, have approval for financing, and have raised money for a good down payment. Thank you to each person who gave to this need and prayed for the Lord to help us. Things have moved so rapidly that closing moved up two weeks to March 8th, that’s this Thursday!

In addition to this answer to prayer, the house comes furnished with 3 beds, tables, chairs, garden tools, lawn mowers, dishes, and the list goes on. Isn’t the Lord amazing! Thank you so much to each one who gave and praise the Lord for providing! This 3 bedroom 2 bath house is more than we wanted to spend, but the property taxes and insurance are much lower than other houses in the area.

Two churches have promised support beginning immediately and a third church is waiting to meet and discuss how much they can budget for monthly support. We are at %60 percent of our needed support and would love the opportunity to share the burden of Astoria with other churches. We partner together with King James Bible believing churches that believe in soul-winning, separation from the world, and sound doctrine. If you know of such a Baptist church that would enjoy hearing about planting a church in Astoria, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Last week, Stacy and I met with a couple who have been praying for us to come to Astoria for nearly 1 year. They were such a blessing and offered us furniture from their house. Our new house will be right around the corner from them and we feel so blessed and certain that the Lord is answering our prayers right before our eyes! God is beginning to do great things and we trust him to do so much more.
As we settle the family, I will not be there to move in because I have meetings scheduled in eastern Oregon. We would like to purchase a car or mini-van so that I can travel. This weekend, it’s Caleb’s turn to go with Dad. We like to rotate the schedule so that our kids get some alone time with dad, but also give them time to catch up on school and have a break from the road. Please pray the Lord would provide reliable transportation for this purpose. I will probably rent a vehicle this week but hope to get something economical to drive to meetings and out visiting. Perhaps the Lord would move on some heart to donate a vehicle for this purpose. I do have mechanical skills and have been known to resurrect a car or two.

God allowed me to meet a man and share the Gospel with him while I was working out the details of the house. He volunteered that he is not a good man and wasn’t sure that God could save him. I had liberty to share the plan of salvation with him and he was very attentive and appreciative of my concern for his soul. The door is open for me to return as he invited me to stop by anytime the car is in the drive. Another lady shared with us that she is saved, but her husband is not. Our family is regularly praying for this man as well. Pray that we raise our support quickly and that we can begin services soon. We ask the Lord that souls will be saved. Thank you so much for your support in prayer, giving, and sending notes of encouragement. We are excited and continuing on! May the LORD continue to bless you and your steadfastness in serving!
