Kevin's Testimony
At the young age of five, I knelt beside my dad by our couch and asked Jesus Christ to forgive me of my sin and I accepted Him as my savior. I was baptized by Pastor T.J. Smith at Friendship Baptist Church in Prossor Washington the next week. I remember the first person I witnessed to a few years later at the age of eight. I was visiting my grandparents in New York. I began talking with a young girl in the neighborhood about Jesus and how I was born again. Before I returned home to Washington State, I gave the young girl the complete plan of salvation. I can not remember if she gave her life to Christ but I remember the great conviction I had about witnessing to her.
I began public school in 6th grade after some home schooling and attending Christian school. It was there where I was confronted with the reality of other religions. I came home from school asking my Dad about every religion you can think of. Particularly, there seemed to be many Mormons and Old Apostolic Lutherans. As I came home with questions, I grew in Bible knowledge. My dad always had good Bible answers for all the false teachers and by the time I reached 8th grade, there were very few Mormons who would discuss the Bible with me in class because the Bible is so clear.
While attending middle school and high school, the Lord used me to win many kids to Him. My youth pastor taught me to be effective in confrontational soul-winning and door to door evangelism. After graduation, God gave me a strong desire to preach and teach the Gospel full time. I quickly volunteered to do whatever God would allow me and I surrendered my will to follow God’s leading in every area of my life.
