March 2018 Prayer Letter (Printable)

Dear Supporting Churches,

It is a great joy and responsibility to represent you and your church in the Pacific Northwest. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We have received many words of encouragement while traveling in the northwest and sharing our vision for what God can do.

The very first step after confirming our supporting churches was to secure housing in the target area of ministry so our family could begin settling. That goal has been accomplished and on a grand scale. After selling all our things in Germany and stepping out on faith that God had called us to a new work, the Lord provided all that we lost and more when we closed on the house in March. We were blessed, not only with housing, but everything was left in the house right down to the dishes, silverware, beds and bedding, tools, everything! It is simply amazing to see how the Lord works. We now understand exactly why the previous house was not for us. Many churches helped with extra funds and everyone was praying the Lord’s will be done. We can’t thank you enough for helping us past this great hurdle. Praise God! Several of you sacrificed to help us with a good down payment on the house and we are very grateful to each of you for having a part and making this possible!

Our next goal is to raise the needed support to begin services as well as full-time evangelism in the Clatsop County area. Many souls here need Jesus Christ and how shall they hear without a preacher? Our hearts are stirred as we see the Lord working all things for good!

We stopped in to a store to get a mattress for one of the bunk beds that were given to us. I began talking to the salesman about Heaven and Hell. Although he had attended church with his fiancé, he commented that no one had ever taken the time to show him from the Bible how he could be saved. I shared the gospel with him and left a gospel tract. I am praying he will trust the Lord and plan to go back and visit with him. Our kids have also found other kids to play with and we were pleased when they came home to tell us how they began to talk with those kids about Christ and have begun to share scripture with them. We are blessed to have children who are excited about their own salvation!

Several churches voted to take on our financial support in March. We are excited to partner together with these new churches, especially since most of them are in the northwest and have a keen understanding of the need in this area. We continue to carefully plan, make meetings, pray, and prepare for our work here. Each new supporting church pushes us closer to the start date! Our calendar is filling up and interest in church planting is increasing.

A few weeks ago, Stacy and I visited a preacher’s fellowship in Spokane Valley. Several pastors were there from Washington, Idaho, and Montana. The preachers were very kind to us and sought me out to invite me to share our ministry in their churches. I was pleasantly surprised in their interest and took it as an answer to prayer. We trust the Lord can accelerate our progress and hope that he will.

One meeting that was made while in Spokane Valley is very special to me. Pastor Parish Plumley at Victory Baptist in Kennewick, WA scheduled a meeting and we plan to visit Pastor T.J. Smith while there. He is a member at Victory Baptist and is the pastor who baptized me and preached my ordination service. We are excited to see him! Thank you for your prayers!
