Dear Church,
Last month we shared the incredible story how the police visited our services looking for a kidnapping church van. Yes, some individuals claiming to be witches used social media to slander our church with an absurd story. Through this very attack, God gave us a couple who continue with us to this day. I was informed a group called “the library of magicians” was praying against our church. Of course, we knew satan would attack when we moved to town but were surprised when some folks involved with him would disclose it. I am reminded of God’s Holy Word!
Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
A few months ago, a young man started visiting Anchor Baptist Church. He is a very kind man with military experience and Gabriel invited him to church. Gabriel is responsible for bringing many people to the services. I spoke with the new visitor about getting saved when he first started attending. He understood the entire plan of salvation but wanted to investigate further and spend some time thinking things over. Several weeks ago, he approached me and said he wanted to get baptized. I was so excited, as we went over the scriptures together. He knew and understood the plan of salvation and so I asked him if he was ready to get saved. As it turns out, he was already saved as a result of studying our discipleship material. One day he prayed to God on his own and confessed Jesus as his Lord and Saviour! He kept that to himself until deciding to openly profess his faith before the church. The baptism service was very well attended, and God received the glory!
We had a fantastic service a couple weeks ago that just may have been the best spirit in church that we have ever experienced. There was a touch of revival and perhaps the beginning spark of a mighty God beginning a mighty work. The altar was in full use spontaneously as God’s people responded to the message of the potter and the clay. I am thrilled to see what vessels of honour that God is preparing for the work in Astoria. In addition to a great service last month, a man I know brought me a person who was struggling with life. We shared Jesus with the man and he got saved!
Our Old-Fashioned Gospel Tent Meeting is on the horizon, and we need prayer and money for that exciting event this July 10-17. Please pray and consider giving toward this great gospel outreach. Last year our budget was $6,721.15. So far, we have not raised any money for this meeting. If your church would like to come as a mission trip, there are many people who need to be born again in Astoria.
