Preaching Jesus Christ to the Pacific Northwest

Dear Church,

The Old-Fashioned Gospel Tent Meeting sponsored by Anchor Baptist Church begins on Sunday July 10th. The excitement is building with over 13 thousand flyers mailed out to each door in the community and banners strategically placed in high traffic areas of Astoria. Will you pray with us each night of the tent meeting that souls will be saved?

We are especially grateful for those who sent extra funds above their monthly support for this gospel outreach. Your prayers are being answered and will certainly result in souls being won to the Lord. God blessed us with a dear couple who came from Emmanuel Baptist Church in Texas using their own vacation time to help us for two weeks. In addition, a group of four men from Emmanuel are taking a mission trip led by Dr. Jim Doster. Many of you know Bro. Doster as the former pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Gloucester City where Stacy was saved and baptized. Stacy is living a dream as we expect her former pastor, Dr. Doster and his team to show up in a few days and spend the week with us.

In preparation for the tent meeting, the kind folks of Anchor Baptist and my sister Renee, brother-in-Law Chad, along with my nieces and nephews came together to create an entry into the Warrenton 4th of July parade. I will post pictures to our ministry website. The float promoted our tent meeting and the participates threw candy while handing out invitations to the meeting. We were very well received and made a positive statement for the Lord and His Gospel!

In addition to the float, my niece Natalie brought her pony and a cart to tow behind. The pony gets a bit nervous, so they brought their goat along which calms the pony’s nerves. As the parade progressed, the pony got ahead of the goat and one of the ladies who attends our church was not able to move the stubborn goat. We took turns carrying the goat and running through the parade trying to catch the pony which gave a good show to the spectators and produced a lot of laughs. I expect we will be contacted by PETA soon with some complaint but the folks in Warrenton loved it! Psalm 133:1 says “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” How wonderful to have saved family members who came to help us with this church plant and gospel tent meeting!

We need help setting up the tent at 9AM on Saturday morning. If you are in the area and available to help, please contact me. We also need help with teardown on Monday the 18th. Most importantly, we need people to pray during our meeting each night starting at 7PM Pacific time. Threats to disrupt this meeting have been made this year as in previous years but prayer and God’s power have always protected us.

A few weeks ago, Pastor Harley Wait invited me to go with him to see a lady who visited our very first tent meeting. I only met her once those two years ago, but when Bro. Wait and I stopped by, he led this dear lady to Christ. One day in Heaven we will see the full harvest! Pray!
